If someone has the recipe for Dirt Cake, I would sincerely appreciate a
copy of it... So far as I know, some of the ingredients, include cream
cheese, Cool Whip (tm), crushed oreo cookies and possibly butter.

Anyone?  Anyone at all?  Please?

Dirt Cake requests are getting almost as popular as Buffalo Wings ...
but at least there appears to be only one recipe in reply to this one :-)

Anyway, here it is ...

   Dirt Cake

1 medium-size flower pot (about 8 inches in diameter works well, or
use two small pots about 6 inches in diameter).
   1 garden trowel.
3 large gummy or plastic worms (optional [optional?  no way!]).
     Plastic flowers.
   1 16-ounce bag Oreo cookies.
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened.
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened.
   1 cup confectioners' sugar.
   1 teaspoon vanilla.
   2 4-serving-size boxes instant chocolate-fudge flavor pudding [a
penciled-in note on the recipe claims vanilla is better]
   3 cups milk.
1 12-ounce tub whipped topping, thawed.

Crush cookies until they resemble potting soil, set aside.

Cream butter, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth and
fluffy.  Set aside. Combine pudding mix and milk until well blended,
then fold in the whipped topping.  Gently fold cream cheese and pudding
mixtures together.

To put the cake together, layer 1/3 of the cookie crumbs followed by
1/2 the pudding mixture, 1/3/ of the crumbs, the rest of the pudding
mixture and topping with the remaining cookie crumbs.

Refrigerate 10 to 12 hours.  About 1/2 hour before serving, remove from
refrigerator and decorate with flowers.  Serve by digging out portions
with the trowel.  Serves 10 to 12. [If you have to ask about the worms,
you should probably try some other recipe.]

We served this at a "Down to Earth" party, along with Mississippi Mud
pie, Grasshopper pie, and Turtles.

1 lb Oreo cookies
1 qt milk
12 oz cream cheese, softened
3 small pkgs instant French Vanilla pudding mix
12 oz Cool Whip
gummi worms

Freeze cookies, then grind in a blender or food processor until they
look like dirt.  (They look like a very rich potting soil :-)  In a
separate bowl, mix softened cream cheese, add pudding, milk, and Cool
Whip.  Beat until smooth (about 3 minutes).

Put a layer of cookie in the bottom of a flower pot (or pan), then add
a layer of pudding mixture.  Continue to layer, ending with a cookie
layer on top.  Chill 3 or 4 hours, or overnight.

To serve, push 1 end of several gummi worms into the 'dirt' in pan or
flower pot.  If in flower pot, add a few stems of silk flowers in the
center.

Delicious, and fun!

A recipe for alu paratha (Indian bread filled with potato aand stuff)
would be much appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows a recipe for something called "ouzi" (I think), a
middle eastern dish, send it along!

Many thanks...

In a large glass, put the juice of 1 lime and 1 tablespoon sugar, and
stir well.  Add cold seltzer water (aka club soda) to fill.  Put the
lime peels in the glass.  Drink.  Repeat until limes or soda run out.

Home Made Frozen Yogurt

1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup whipping cream (hence FAT ALERT)
2/3 cup sugar
juice and grated peel of 1 lemon

Mix the whipping cream and sugar with an electric mixer at high speed
until the cream is thick. Stir in the other ingredients.  Place in a
freezer, stirring about every 45 minutes until frozen.  In a metal
mixing bowl in my freezer it took about 3 hours to reach the
consistency of soft ice cream, at which point stirring isn't necessary
any more, maybe 5 or 6 hours to be fully frozen.

I've also made this with 2 limes instead of one lemon. It tasted like a
key lime pie, but cold and with the mouth feel of frozen yogurt. If you
don't like very sour things try one lime.
